The Professor

lives in Oakland, CA at his nest in The Compound Gallery. He is astute and witty and is known for his keen sense of style and appreciation of the arts. He often out traveling the world, but his trusty assistant professors are always there to run the store. Kerri Lee Johnson

Assistant Professor: Kerri Lee Johnson lives and works in Oakland, CA. She received a BFA from the San Francisco Art Institute. Johnson is a working artist, arts administrator and curator. She was the co-owner of Blankspace gallery, a contemporary art gallery she co-founded and ran from 2006-2010. Johnson is also co-founder of the Bay Area Visual Arts Network and Branch Gallery. She loves supporting the local economy and will likely make a millionaire out of the first cafe in walking distance from the shop to serve bacon doughnuts.




Lena Verderano Reynoso

Assistant Professor: Lena Verderano Reynoso is an artist, antiquarian, and Doctoral Candidate at the University of California Berkeley. Her artistic and academic work is centered around American sideshows and popular culture. Her art has been featured on E! Online, Gawker, the WB, TMZ, Wired Images, the Rumpus.com, Alameda Magazine, Oakland Magazine, and many other publications and newspapers. She has published articles on folklore and Early American amusements in Proverbium and the Early American Review. She is currently writing a book on sideshows and owns The Compound Gallery in Oakland, CA with her husband. Reynoso is also co-founder of Art in a Box and loves hunting for fine hand crafted items.
